Snow, Plough Ridges and Photo-Eyes
The damage from snow is mostly done by the clearing, not the falling.
Plough ridges pushed against the door press wet snow into the seal line where it refreezes. Snowblowers and shovels knock photo-eyes out of alignment, because the eyes sit at exactly the height everything gets swung past. And piled snow against the bottom section holds meltwater and salt against the steel for weeks. Clear back from the door rather than up to it, and check the eyes after every heavy clear-out.
